Description

White Chemical WR-9 STEEL SEAL is an aqueous, polymer coating with rust arrestor that bonds to metal surface, sealing air and moisture out.  STEEL SEAL provides excellent chemical resistance and physical barrier protection against rust.  The molecules of STEEL SEAL are joined in an adhesive rust preventive sheild.  One single coating protects the steel surface from severe weather (high humidity) and salt-corrosive environments.  STEEL SEAL is non-toxic, non-hazardous, and is not considered hazardous waste as defined under Federal RCRA regulations (40 CFR 261) if discarded in an approved facility in accordance of Federal, State, and Local regulation.

Application:

STEEL SEAL is effective in forming a long lasting protective barrier on steel.  REMOVAL NOT INTENDED.  Sandblasting is not required prior to coating with STEEL SEAL unless heavy, flaking rust is present.  Before applying, prepare surface to be coated as follows:

1.  Clean grease and oil from steel using WR-8- liquid cleaner and let surface dry  completely.

2.  Stir or mix STEEL SEAL 3 - 5 minutes before applying.

3.  STEEL SEAL may be applied by brushing, spraying, or dipping.

4.  Apply 1 - 2 mils of STEEL SEAL on the first coat and let dry for 10 - 30 minutes.  Apply 2 - 4 mils on the second coat.  After curing, apply a topcoat if desired.

Drying time is dependent on temperature and humidity.  Tack time: 15 seconds to 1 minute.  Cure time: 8 - 18 hours.

STEEL SEAL protects:  Drilling Rigs, Production Platforms, Facilities, Boats, Barges, all Tubular including Tubing, Drill Pipe, Drill Collars, and is also used on Handling Equipment, Trailers, Rail Cars, etc.
